Past events

As of April 2024, we've completed 9 different events, three of which included seminars for students of middle school or lower.  Three others were community clean-ups.  We also have held two science fairs.

Sci4Fun

An annual science fair that we conducted in the winter of 2023 where we let children engage in several hands-on science experiments to learn more about the world that they live in while also having fun.

MLK Day Coaster-Making Event

A seminar that we held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to educate children on the importance of Dr. King's contributions to environmental justice as well as to teach them how they can reuse old magazines to make DIY coasters. This event was hosted by the Department of Environmental Protection.

Fall Clean-up

A community cleanup done the day before Halloween (October 30) that allowed around 100 volunteers to help pick up trash around the neighborhood.  This was our first time doing a trash clean-up in two different locations simultaneously (Clarksburg and Bethesda).

Sci 4 Fun

A science fair that we conducted in the summer of 2022 where we let children engage in several hands-on science experiments to learn more about the world that they live in while also having fun.

EcoSWIFT Community Clean-up

A community cleanup done in the beginning of 2020 in Clarksburg that allowed volunteers to help pick up trash around the neighborhood as well as receive SSL hours.

Trash to Treasure

A seminar that we did over the summer to talk about the environment to two different groups of students, Elementary Schoolers from grades 3 to 5 and the Middle Schoolers from grades 6 to 7.

DIY Charity

A seminar to encourage middle school students to create their own projects to send to people who helped support us throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to people who are struggling in the pandemic.

Earth Day Event

After a full year of the pandemic, we did another full community cleanup on April 20th, 2021 that allowed students to move around to help their community while also getting SSL and meeting up with their friends alas with social distancing.
