Trash to Treasure

A seminar that lasted 5 sessions per group, each session happening once per week. We had two different groups, one for elementary schoolers (3rd to 5th graders) and another for middle schoolers (6th and 7th graders). Each session had around 10 to 15 people, teaching them about the environment and ideas for their Trash to Treasure innovations. Down below is the two first-place winners.

Coronavirus-Detecting Goggles

Roland's innovation for this event are goggles that everyday people and these goggles can be used to find the virus and people will know what area to sanitize. If you point the goggle where the virus is, then the individual virus will turn bright red. As well as, if you point the goggles at a person that has the virus, that person will turn bright red.

Wooden Trash Grabber

Katrina Yuen's innovaton is a wooden trash grabber with rubber bands, instead of using a commercial trash grabber. You can use a wooden trash grabber as that is eco-friendly and will hold a CLOROX wipe and it will wipe the surfaces. When you are done using it you can just drop the CLOROX wipe in the trash and pull another one out of a bottle. You can also use it at your home and use it in some delivered packages.
